The MAKSU test

Maks and Ksu played with this one first.

We raced two snakes across the living room, stole blocks from each other's tails and added more blocks than the box says. Here is what they said, scores included. No tens: in this house a ten has to be earned.

Maks

Chief tester

7/10 70%

What I liked

The two snakes are different colours
Number stickers for the blocks
You can count the tail really fast

What I'd change

The remotes are a bit small (for an 8-year-old's hands)
With extra blocks from another set, the long snake can't turn well

“You don't have to count every block. You just look at the number.”

Ksu

Second opinion

8/10 80%

What I liked

Pressing the buttons on the remote
Driving it in every direction
Taking the blocks the other snake already ate

What I'd change

On sharp turns, blocks sometimes fall off

“It's fun that you can snatch the blocks the other snake already ate!”

Family score: 75% — we stand behind it

For parents tired of saying “five more minutes”

Phone down. Game on.

Don't take the game away. Make it real. They chase, steer and shout, and the phone stays on the table.

On a screen

Alone. Sitting still. Hard to stop.

On the floor

Together. Moving. Laughing.

One toy, five games.

Classic

Clear the floor. Count your tail.

Beat the clock

60 seconds. How many blocks?

Obstacle course

Books, cups, socks. Build a maze.

Snake battle

Green vs cream. Longest tail wins.

Team mode

2, 3, 4 or 5 snakes. Two teams. Chaos. Every extra snake is one more player.

Small details, big fun.

Easy remote

Two thumbs, four directions. A switch turns the sound off.

Scatter. Chase. Grow.

Scatter the blocks, drive the snake over them, and each one clicks onto the tail by magnet. No fiddling.

Sounds on the move

The snake makes sounds as it hunts.

Rechargeable snake

Built-in battery, USB-C charging cable included. Remote runs on 2 AA batteries.

Snake everywhere.

Good to know

Can more than two play?

Yes, and there is no limit. Every snake comes with its own remote and is paired to it, so two, four, six or more snakes can share the same floor without interfering.

Where does it drive best?

Tile, wood, low rugs. Thick carpet slows it down.

Is it safe? What age?

Ages 6 and up. Tested to ASTM F963-23 and CPSIA, including the ASTM F963 magnet requirements. Tested for lead, heavy metals and phthalates: none detected. The magnets are sealed inside the blocks and passed the ASTM F963 magnet test.
